PCD(Polycrystalline Diamond) is manufactured by applying high pressure and high temperatures to industrial diamonds and binding materials. PCBN(Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride) is also produced through similar procedures, but differs from CBN in how it is used instead of industrial diamonds. PCD is harder since it is manufactured from diamonds but PCBN, with the characteristics of CBN, has the advantage of being able to cut steel materials.

Manufactured PCD and PCBN is a cut product according to its use, and are applied to the insert required in cutting equipment after being produced. PCD is used to cut non-steel materials such as lumber, aluminum, ceramic, cement, and carbon fibers while PCBN is used to cut steel materials such as steel, cast iron, and superalloy.

PCD/PCBN is ultra-hard materials manufactured by sintering diamond particles or CBN power in high pressure and high temperatures, and is widely used as an essential material in various industries such as automobile, airplanes, lumber, and oil drilling. In addition, these materials are vastly superior in various aspects such as longevity, surface roughness, and stability against heat compared to conventional ceramic or hardmetal cemented equipment. It is expected that the demand for these products in processing new materials that are continuously developed and used will increase further.
